We named our studio Cairn for the stones people stack to mark a path or remember a life (more on that here). Our chimes take their names from the same place: the landscape, and the small, quiet things in it.
The chimes
Tor: a hill or rocky peak.
Meadow: open land covered with grass and wildflowers.
Dune: a ridge of sand shaped by the wind.
Acorn: the smooth oval seed of an oak, small and full of potential.
Clover: a low plant of fields and lawns, with soft, rounded leaves.
Cricket: named for the first Japanese bronze bell we chose for our chimes. Crickets make music, and so do these.
Each chime is made by hand in Portland, Oregon, with a small portion of a loved one's ashes fired into the porcelain. See all the chimes.
